- The Ferrari team assult on the Indianpolis 500 was a much anticipated event and the subject of much pre-race speculation. This photo shows Johnny Parsons in the cockpit of a Ferrari with his mechanic H.M. Jensen and the legendary Enzo Ferrari.
- The June issue of Auto Sport Review privided an article on the Indy 500 and international drivers that had prior experience in motorcycle racing.
- Photo shows Ab Jenkins, famous Great Slat Lake speed record holder and later Mayor of Salt Lake City Utah. Pierro Taruffi, European on a motorcycle at the speedway. He won the 1932 European Championship on a Norton followed by motorcycle land speed records (173 MPH) in 1937. Winner of the 1957 Mille Miglia and one Grand Prix (1952 Swiss).
- Wilber Shaw recieves an Indian, probably a 500 CC Warrier. Unfortunately, the Indian Motorcycle Company went bankrupt in 1953 in competition with Harley-Davidson and rapidly improving British bikes.
- Rex Mays, a revered racer of the 1930s and 1940’s also had his start in motorcycle racing.
- The magazines catering to foreign cars, international racing, and the emerging road racing fans in America were predicting a Ferrari victory at Indianapolis.
- Road and Track give the Ferrari story a one page summary of its modest results from its foray into oval track racing.
- The article predicts that Ferreri learned its lessons well and will content in 1953.
